 About Paul:

 Paul Hegwood was named Vice President of Global Operational Excellence for Catalent in April 2011, following an extensive career leading multi-national teams in operations, business development and product engineering.

 From 2008 to 2011, Paul held the position of Vice President of Global Operations for Stanadyne Corporation; a global fuel-injection company.  He also served on the Board of Directors for Stanadyne, SPA. Previously Paul held various leadership positions at General Motors and its automotive electronics and technology company, Delphi .  From 1986 through 2008, he served in positions of increasing responsibility in automotive operations, lean manufacturing and venture development. In 2006, he was promoted to a manufacturing director leadership role for Delphi ’s Automotive Holding Group. His more than 30-year tenure in the automotive industry includes assignments in Europe, India and China .

 Paul holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BME from Kettering University , the former General Motors University .  He is a trained specialist in Lean Manufacturing and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.  Paul has also been certified as a Top Five Executive for Red X Diagnostic Problem Solving by Shainin LLC a company specializing in problem solving techniques.

Dorian Shainin Medal

Dorian Shainin, a long time member of ASQ Hartford and the North East Quality Council, is best known for the "Shainin Techniques" - practical tools he developed to help manufacturers solve problems, including problems that had been considered unsolvable.
