Hello and Welcome to the Hartford Section’s new and improved website!
I would like to start by thanking the entire of the Executive Committee for their do diligence on the extra effort on this project. Next I want to thank Gill Charbonneau for all of his years of service to the Hartford Section as Website Editor. He did a grand job of keeping all of us informed via the website on what was going on in the section. I would also like to thank and welcome our new website designer Larry Whittington, CSQE, CSDP member of the Atlanta Section to the Hartford Section. He is the president of Frog Town Media, LLC . The new website is in compliance with the guidelines expressed by ASQ Headquarters in Milwaukee. When Ida Gall (Deputy Regional Director for Region 1) and myself were in Orlando at the World Conference for Quality and Improvement, we both took a session on the subject of ASQ website design. We found that the website was behind change for what Headquarters was looking for.
As the Executive Committee found itself with Microsoft retiring FrontPage and the need to make some major changes and upgrades, it was decided to move the website up to the latest revision and add some new features that other Sections and Divisions had added as well as a service provider to handle our credit card addition. You will see the name Acteva on the sign up page for meeting and educational offering in this new website. This company does business with several sections and divisions of ASQ. So moving forward to the future we will be back online and on target for the rest of the year and hopefully beyond. This April’s meeting features one of our own Executive Committee team member Dr. Ron Blank who will be speaking on Document Control. May’s meeting brings our plant tour which will be at Yarde Metals in Southington, CT. Then the June meeting brings our yearly wrap up and awards committee offering. Richard Ott and his team are still looking for nominees for this year’s award. Our speaker will be Donna McIlduff who will be speaking on the subject of LEAN Fusion. One last point I would like to bring up. That is that we still have opening in our Executive Committee team. Those are of Vice Chair/Chair elect and Arrangements Chair. We will also take others who want to volunteer any other committee we offer. So it has been a busy month and we all look forward to hearing from you about our new website.
