INSPECTOR    1 – DAYS 1 – NIGHTS                   
Summary:  Performs basic inspection activities of product, materials, 1st piece inspection and in-process monitoring as assigned.  Reports to Value Stream Manager/Team Leader on work assignments to meet production schedules.  Reports to Quality Assurance Supervisor regarding quality issues.  Assigns tasks to inspectors to ensure that production schedules are met.

Responsibilities:
1.  Performs visual and dimensional inspection of various mechanical components and assemblies to close tolerance.  Performs 1st piece and in-process inspection in assigned value stream.
2.  Identifies defects in surface, dimensional, visual and non-conformities (material, documentation and workmanship) to blue prints and Companies quality standards.  Reports non-conformist of materials or unusual conditions to Quality Supervisor and cell leader.
3.  Uses a variety of conventional and advanced inspection devices, CMM tools and instruments to verify dimensions to drawing specifications.
4.  Performs all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectations.  Follows work procedures.
5.  Maintains records, data and logs as necessary.  .  Creates inspection forms such as IMS, 1st article and other related forms.
6.  Prepares products and related paperwork for presentation to customer or source inspection.
7.  Provides leadership/training as needed.  Ensures that production schedules are met.
8.  Maintains clean and safe work environment.  Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations.  Reports safety incidents to supervisor.
9.  Makes recommendations for improvements to work processes and procedures.  Contributes to 5 S programs in work area.
10.  Provides a high level of service to all internal and external customers.  Contributes to positive teamwork environment. 
11.  Performs other duties as assigned.  Participates in training/learning other positions.  Accomplishes related results as needed.

Qualifications:
Education:  Associates degree in technical program.

Experience:  3-5 years inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
